I am trying a new technique using Elmers gel glue, but it seams to be running. I have switch to Elmers white glue and it seams to be working better. I have to let it dry for 24 hours befor I can paint.

Courtneys Rag Quilt
I've designed a new quilt and I'm going to give this to my oldest granddaughter. She wants a rag quilt and to be honest I like making them.
Here is the design of the Rag Quilt. I wanted to have it done by June but it's not going to happen, but that ok I have until December.
Appalachian quilt
I know I promised to show the finished Appalachian quilt sooner but, I went on vacation right after I gave it to my daughter and just haven't had the time to get on the computer much.
So here is the front and the back.

Appalachian Quilt
It's Friday and I'm going to work on binding the Appalachian quilt for my daughter. I can't post any pictures until she has received the quilt which will be May 10th.
This quilt is very sharp.....my best one yet, but I say that about them all...LOL!

Owl Appliques
Today it's snowing outside and a great day to continue practicing my hand at appliques. So far I've made four applique blocks with owls, but I haven't stitched any of the blocks. I want to make several more before I stitch them.
I was up at 2:00am getting ready for work so I am very tired, but I believe I will be able to applique at least one owl today.
Stay tune and I will post the pictures very soon.
Well....I have been side tracked on the owls. My dad will be turning 80 years old this year and I am making him two scrapbooks. I'm not a fan of scrapbooks so this have been a challenge; plus I don't have the pictures to put in the book. Those will be put in later.
Also my daughter will be graduating from Appalachian State University in May 2014. I am making her a quilt as a gift.

"Gone Fishin" Quilt
The quilt was done by using the Quilt As You Go Technique, but I did it in rows instead of block by block.
Here is a picture of the blocks that was being preparing to get quilted. You can also see a piece what the fabric that was used for the of the quilt.
Here is a picture of the completed quilt.

Rag Quilt titled "Beyond the Stars"
The Rag Quilt was a fun quilt and it didn't take very long to make. This is the back of the quilt, the front is exactly like the back but it's raggy. I completed this quilt in january 2014.

This year I would like to make 3 Rag quilts.
One for my youngest grand-daughter. I am currently working on her rag quilt.
One for my oldest grand-daughter and one for my daughter.
I am also making a advent calendar, mug rugs and quilted postcards.
I will post pictures as I go!
2014
Welcome 2014!
So far this year I have made a lap Quilt for myself. The quilt is a Rag Quilt with a Christmas theme.
The name of the quilt is "Christmas Joy". I will post a picture soon.
This was the easiest quilt I have made so far.
Today Saturday, January 25, 2014, I completed my second quilt of the year. I made this for my husband.
I named the quilt "Gone Fishing". I fussy cute fishing pre-print fabric out for the center of the block and added the ends to make a "T" block.
I did quilt as you go, but I did it in rows instead of QAYG blocks. By doing QAYG in rows, you are able to see the fabric panel on the back.
I will post a picture of this quilt soon.
