Square in Square, Dresden Plate & Potato Bags

 

I read recently that most quilter's sew all their blocks for a quilt, put the batting and backing on and then set the quilt aside and start on a new project. The problem I have is I have several projects going at one time, and none are complete. I love having the option of working on something different so I don't get bored with the current project.

Presently have 3 projects to complete and one that I have cut out the fabric and I am ready to sew using the foundational paper piecing technique. The first project is a quilt with black and white pock a dot fabric with black and yellow blocks. The second is Dresden circles (I can't decide what I want to make with these) and Third is potato bags. I am experimenting with making a smaller potato bag for single person/potato use.

The project I want to start on is a wall quilt with pine tree's that have snow on them.

Project number 1:  The block for this quilt is called a square in a square.

Sewing Again!

It has been a years since I have sat down at my sewing machine. I stored it when I had to have surgery on my foot.

Recently I went into the storage chest were I had my sewing machine stored and I found some Disney princess fabric I had purched to make a pillow for my grand-daughter Courtney, but I never went back to sewing.

I am happy to report that I have not only made the pillow, but I had enough material to make a small quilt also. The only problem is my grand-daughter is now 13 years old. I will have to pass the pillow and quilt on down to her baby sister Christian who is 2-1/2 years old and love's the Disney princess as much as her sister did when she was small.
